Curious? You’ll find a report on last years seminar here (in German) and pictures here on facebook.

We are happy to announce that from 31.08. to 03.09.2017, JEF Germany will host the 18th edition of the famous International Berlin Seminar! Taking place in Berlin, the seminar gives you the chance to meet interesting people from over 20 countries for four intense days of discussion, street-ralleys, workshops and social events! This year’s edition of the International Berlin Seminar will focus on the topic “Europe and the World”.

During four days, you and more than 50 inspiring young people from all over Europe will get the chance to experience Berlin and its diversity, discuss and try to find answers to questions revolving around Europe’s role in the world. We will help you to develop your own vision of Europe and – more importantly – a way to shape the Europe of tomorrow: What is or should be Europe’s role in the world? What are new challenges, and what are possible scenarios for future developments?

Does Europe’s role in the world needs to be discussed anew? The European Union and the world face multiple crises, the so-called refugee crisis with a lack of solidarity, uprising nationalism and hatred against putative differences, mistrust and the disregarding of treaties. With all these challenges, however, there is an opportunity for change and rising activism all around the world. Join us in rethinking global politics and get to the bottom of Europe’s role in international relations!

Throughout history, Berlin has always been a city where international politics played an exceptional role. From the golden twenties to the capital of Nazi fascism, from the separation between the FRG and the GDR through the Berlin wall to student protests and the rise of subversive youth cultures. Today, Berlin is not only a nexus of major economic and political institutions and civil society but also a symbol for a liberal way of life. Next to its vibrant atmosphere, Berlin is still a mecca for individuals, who are considered particular and different elsewhere. The city has profited from this by becoming an exceptional place in terms of arts, music and culture, attracting tourists from all over the globe.

Experts on European politics, exciting methods and lots of food (for thought) are waiting for you!

The participation fee of 80 € includes accommodation, full catering during the seminar as well as the different workshops and trainings.
